Farewell For Now

Firstly, Happy Mother’s Day! We hope all you mummies out there get suitably spoilt today and have a chance to put your feet up!

Happy Mother

It’s 12 months today since we launched Pretty Little Baby and it’s with great sadness that we announce that we are putting our blog on hold for a little while. We’ve absolutely loved posting our daily ramblings and pretty finds on these pastel pages, and have received such wonderful feedback from our ever growing community of readers and baby brands.

However, as many of you will know, in the last year we have personally entered (and are about to enter) the world of parenting and the demands of family life coupled with our other businesses has left very little time for researching and writing daily content for Pretty Little Baby. Consequently, we have made the very difficult decision to put things on hold for a little while to focus our attention on family life.

The blog will stay online so we welcome you to continue to browse through our archives and posts for inspiration on all things baby. And when we come across something that we simply have to share, we’ll make sure we pop a post online.

Thank you so much for your support in following our blog journey over the last year and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we’re back.

Saturday Scoop – H&M’s New Flagship Store

Happy weekend – a very special one for all you mummies! We’ve had a lovely week here on PLB which started in style with our feature on Jacadi childrenswear.  We ventured Stateside on Tuesday for a lofty Manhattan newborn shoot and were on-trend with our pick of the best flouro handbags. We celebrated the impending arrival of Baby K at Jo’s baby shower and she shared her new rustic elephant nursery decor with us to end the week beautifully.

Something For The Weekend

One of our go-to brands for stylish staples that don’t break the bank is H&M both for ourselves and our little ones! From the 14th-17th March they are celebrating the re-opening of their flagship store on Oxford Street, London with a four day party filled with fashion, music and fun. Over 20 DJs will be on hand to keep you entertained along with curated collections from fashion blogger Susie Bubble. The remodelled store will hold six floors full of fabulousness and for the first 500 shoppers arriving from 1pm on the 14th March there will be 25% off. Visit hm.com for more details.

Decor Design – Rustic Elephant Nursery

With just two weeks (and hopefully no longer!) to go until our baby makes its entrance into the world, I’m relieved to say that the nursery is complete. If, like us, you decided to keep the sex of your baby a surprise you’ll no doubt be able to empathise with the fact that designing a gender-neutral nursery isn’t as simple as it might seem.

I was initially adamant that I didn’t want to opt for the obvious cream/beige colour combo as it’s been done to death and is quite frankly a little dull! Yet, after several rounds of moodboards and endless evenings spent on Pinterest looking at alternative options, it became apparent that there’s good reason why so many parents opt for these soft tones – they not only work for either gender but will stand the test of time for additional babies too. So with a muted palette of grey, beige and cream decided and a rustic elephant theme in mind, Mr K dug out his overalls and set to on transforming our office-come-spare-room-come-junk-room into a nursery haven. There’s a few finishing touches still to be added but we’re pretty much there and can’t wait to welcome the little one home – let’s hope the calming tones influence his/her sleeping patterns!

This is utterly adorable!! A sophisticated but cute room mum and baby can enjoy – I’m sure the soothing palette will be just what’s needed on those early morning feeds! Good luck Jo xo

Aw, thanks so much Louise. I’m glad you like it :-) x

Gabi

Absolutely beautiful, I could take a nap in that relaxing chair right now :-) looking forward to seeing little baby K make their appearance in the room soon!

Hi I think your nursery is beautiful. As a night nanny I always advice parents to make the nursery a calm and peaceful place, no loud colours.
Make sure you have the temperature just right too, not to hot and baby will sleep well. Best wishes. Sarah.

And The Winner Is…

We had lots of entries for our competition to win an aden + anais serenity star, but the lucky winner is Lucy. Congratulations and we’ll be in touch soon with details of how to claim your prize!

A Pretty Little Baby Shower

There are only a couple of weeks now until Baby K is scheduled to make its appearance, so last weekend we threw Jo a surprise baby shower to celebrate! As she has decorated the baby’s nursery in muted tones of grey and beige with little elephants as a key element we took inspiration from this and decided on an elephant theme with a pale grey and mint green colour scheme. Together with some of her closest girlfriends we prepared an afternoon of fun, games and pressies to spoil the yummy mummy-to-be before she pops!

For food we had a sweet table and a savoury table – the savoury bites were all made by Jo’s talented brother and were mini morsels of deliciousness while all the sweet treats and the amazing cake (in Jo’s favourite almond flavour infused with clementine syrup) were created by sugar supremo Krishanthi from Cakes by Krishanthi. Games included ‘guess the celeb baby bump’, ‘present bingo’ and ‘who’s who’ which were all made to co-ordinate with the stationery.

It was a lovely afternoon and gave us all a chance to wish Jo and Mr K a lifetime of happiness as they embark on this new chapter as a family.

Soooo cute!! Love the elephant theme :) xo

Just because you have a million and one things to lug around when you’re a mum doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice keeping up with the latest fashion. So what better way to inject a splash of colour into your spring wardrobe than with a neon handbag…here’s our pick of our favourite fun fluoro bags that are big enough for baby’s belongings.

A New York Newborn Shoot

This newborn shoot is a tale of two halves – Baby J had some pretty props for his posed pictures and then some bright and breezy images with his gorgeous Mum! Captured at home in downtown Manhattan, these images were taken by photographer Jane Goodrich.
